Cross-chain interoperability protocol deBridge unveiled a new execution primitive that aims to eliminate onchain complexity for users and developers.
The new execution model, deBridge Bundles, lets users sign an intent describing the desired result, which will then be executed by the protocol without directly interacting with blockchains.
“Traditional DeFi interactions require users to manage multiple layers of complexity, including gas payments, slippage, transaction landing, retries on reversion, and fragmented balances across chains,” the press release said. “Bundles eliminate these burdens by shifting the interaction model away from chain-level execution and toward outcome-driven intent.”
Bundles is also designed to simplify the app-building process for developers, allowing them to focus on product logic and user experience while the protocol handles complex bespoke utilities, retry logic, and execution scaffolding.
DeBridge said in the release that Bundles is the first of its broader execution framework to improve onchain experience for users, including one-click trades, deposits, strategies, and fully chain-abstracted liquidity flows.
DeBridge employs a model distinct from the popular bridging method, where users lock a token on one chain to receive an equivalent wrapped asset on another chain. Instead, it enables direct liquidity transfer between chains, thereby eliminating the need to lock assets, reducing complexity, and improving transfer efficiency.
Launched in 2022, the protocol currently supports 24 different blockchains, including Ethereum, HyperEVM, Linea, Base and Tron. It has raised $5.5 million from investors like Animoca Brands and rolled out a Reserve Fund to finance token buybacks for its DBR token in July.
